Today we were lucky: With rain clouds left, right and center, we should have gotten soaking wet. Yet, apart from a few drops and sprinkles we stayed dry (from the outside at least).
And the cherry on the cake was the perfect double rainbow over the Nibelung bridge at Worms (pictured above).
The illusion of the eastern end of the rainbow splashing into one garden oustide of Bürstadt, just a few kilometres away from where we crossed bridge over the Rhine, gave me goosebumps — though, it was precisely that — just an illusion.
But despite rainbows and sunshine, our bikes were not so lucky: With all the mud, muck and manure on the still wet rural roads and combined service and cycle ways around here, my bike needed a thorough wash, again.
That’s the downside of winter training outside — compared to indoors, on rollers or Zwift or other virtual cycling solutions.
