Approaching Obarra from the south on the A-1605, the monastery is situated to the right, semi-hidden in a beautiful setting on the banks of the Isábena river. The valley then turns into a gorge with stunning rock formations and multiple short tunnels, making for a memorable ride.

“A Riot of Autumn Colors (…)” — the A-1605 follows the Isábena for quite a while before then turning up into the mountains, towards the Alto de Bonansa plateau.
