Aínsa lies at the confluence of the rivers Ara and Cinca and borders the artificial Mediano lake.
The tiny town in the autonomous community of Aragón, has preserved its historical flair with its 11th century castle, narrow cobblestone streets, and especially with the impressive “Plaza Mayor” central place surrounded by stone arcade houses.
The modern bridge in the photo above is roughly 200 m long and spans the Rio Cinca just before it is joined by the Rio Ara, about a kilometre north of the Embalse de Mediano.
